Seasonal Study
The heart of Christian formation is built upon a strong engagement with Holy Scripture and theological texts. What may seem overwhelming to someone new to exploring Christianity can become a rich source of inspiration and spiritual renewal through committed study of sacred text. Throughout the year, Grace Church hosts in-depth Bible studies led by the Rector. Conversations are vibrant, and everyone is encouraged to bring their ideas and insights to the table.
Our Bible study historically has met on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am.
Advent and Lenten Luncheon Series
During the seasons of Advent and Lent, we offer a weekly lunch series every Thursday at 11:30 AM.
Each session begins with prayer and communion followed by lunch and a discussion on the study for the season. These series have become one of our hallmarks and bring together community members from churches of many denominations throughout the county. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of unity and spiritual growth based upon our shared faith. All are welcome to join us!
Pathways to Prayer & Practice
Grace is a small, inter-generational church. We love that about who we are. And, we are excited to participate in the Diocese of Virginia’s Pathways to Prayer and Practice initiative, which seeks to find new ways to welcome children more fully into the worship life of the Church. As part of that effort, we're introducing two new opportunities for families:
Parents or grandparents and their children are invited to serve together as readers, ushers, and acolytes during our Sunday services. There is something really special about learning and serving side by side, and we hope it will help our children grow in confidence and curiosity and gain a deeper understanding of worship.
Monthly, we will hold Worship & Wonder — a family-friendly outdoor worship service for the community centered on God's presence in creation. We will explore the beauty and wisdom of God through the changing seasons, the birds, trees and all the wonders of the natural world.
This service will include activities for kids, interactive music and communion. Activities and fellowship will follow the service. All are welcome!
Small Groups
Praying with Grace
The Grace Prayer Group meets every Tuesday at 8:30 am for Morning Prayer followed by discussion and sharing in the Parish Hall. All are welcome.
Men's Group
The Men’s Group is a small group ministry that invites all men into fellowship, study, and service and meets on the first and third Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm.
The purpose of Grace Men’s Group is to provide a means for the men of Grace Church and the larger community to meet regularly for fellowship, spiritual development, mutual encouragement and support, mentoring, outreach, and service.
In the fall of 2026, the Men's Group is reading and discussing The Meaning of Jesus: Two Visions, in which scholars Marcus Borg and N.T. Wright each offer a distinct portrait of who Jesus was and is. Rather than settling on one "right" answer, the book invites readers to sit with real theological tension -- and our discussions aim to do the same, creating space for honest, sometimes vulnerable conversation about faith. The study begins on September 17th at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall and will be held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month through December 17th. All men are welcome to join at any point in the series.

Pilgrimage to Canterbury in 2027
In March 2026, Dame Sarah Mullally walked Becket’s Way (84 miles) on her journey to be installed as the Archbishop of Canterbury. The pilgrimage was the first time in modern history that an Archbishop took this sacred path to their installation.
You are invited to join Grace Church in June 2027 as we trace the Archbishop’s steps and immerse ourselves in the heart of Anglican history.
Our journey will begin at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London and end at Canterbury Cathedral. Along the way, we will visit historic sites, practice a rhythm of daily prayer, and seek the pilgrim’s path and God’s guidance along the way. We would like to gather a list of people who are interested in participating. Space will be limited to a group of 10–12 people.
There will be an informational meeting on Sunday, September 27th following the 10:00 am service.

Inquirer’s Class
The Inquirer’s Class is an opportunity for newcomers to learn about the Episcopal Church. Instruction typically includes information concerning the beliefs, history, worship, and practices of the Episcopal Church. After attending the class, participants may wish to become members of the Episcopal Church through Confirmation or Reception if they have already been baptized. Inquirers who have not yet been baptized may choose to do so in consultation with the Rector.
